With the price about to rise for entries into Raffertys Coastal Run on Thursday now is the time to enter and make sure you don’t miss out on one of the best trail running events in the country. With a course designed by the same crew behind the popular Coastal Classic and Jabulani Challenge this is a trail running event guaranteed to deliver.

Hosted from the beautiful Raffertys Resort on the shores of Lake Macquarie and featuring 11km, 22km and 35km options there really is something for everyone. So shake off those winter blues and get out on the trails. All three distances offer stunning scenery with incredible vistas over both Lake Macquarie and the Pacific Ocean. With a great mix of fire trails, technical single tracks, low tide beach running and the signature rock platforms alongside the crashing waves.

Raffertys Resort is only a short hop up the highway from Sydney and is right on the doorstep of both Newcastle and the Central Coast. With family friendly additions like the Kids Fun Run and Kids Club this is one event you can certainly bring the whole family too.

Based from Euroka Clearing near Glenbrook, home to a multitude of kangaroos and other native wildlife, this event will take in the best trails, tracks and stunning views this World Heritage Listed area has to offer.

With both Novice and Classic courses on offer, there is something for everyone.

Based on last year’s success of running the event when it is warmer, it will take place in Spring on Saturday the 24th September.

Paddy Pallin Urban Series

Entries are now open for the Paddy Pallin Urban in Sydney for 2016. One of the most popular and unique events on the calendar the Paddy Pallin Urban will have teams of 2 completing checkpoints around a series of locations right in the heart of the harbour city. Sounds easy enough right? Well as an added twist the locations are only revealed to the teams via cryptic clues that they have to solve! Teams also have to factor in how they will travel between checkpoints, sure you can jog or walk between them but teams can also use public transport (no taxis!) to save time and effort as well. The winners are not necessarily the fastest team, but the team that has the best strategy and team work on the day.

Last year checkpoints included kayaking, musical trivia, puzzle solving, basketball, blindfolded tent building and karoake to name a few! What will 2016 have in store? Well that is a secret too! All the checkpoints will be designed for all levels of fitness and will be a combination of physical and mental challenges. The Paddy Pallin Urban really is like a mega episode of the Amazing Race all crammed into one day!

Event Wrap Up

Tough Bloke Challenge

A cold June day did not stop the crowds of Tough Blokes, Tough Chicks and, brand new for this year, Tough Kids conquering the Tough Bloke Challenge course and proving that they were TOUGH ENOUGH!

With 29 obstacles to conquer this year the event was harder than ever with some new challenging obstacles becoming instant favourites! All the Tough Blokes and Tough Chicks were challenged by the high walls, rope swings, mud baths and chilly water obstacles. After a welcome free hot shower and free 4 Pines beer in hand they were talking up the event as the best edition yet and vowing to be back in 2017. Will you be tough enough to join them???
