Well part of it anyway...
Kathmandu Adventure Series – Blue Mountains
Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd August 2014
Those familiar with the Blue Mountains event will know that the course always takes them along the famous single track, starting from the end of the Oaks fire trail. Thanks to the efforts of Synergy Trails and National Parks this single track has been extended by another 2km. We have adjusted the course to take in this awesome new single track. This new route allows us to use some walking tracks that have not been used for many years…….Not sure what we are talking about, well you will just have to enter and see what the fuss is all about.
Top Tips Part 1 from Mel and Luke – Team Traces of Nuts
The idea is to have fun and get your team around the course as quickly as possible.
• Always stick together. The rule is 100m, but we are very rarely more than 10m apart.
• Talk with each other constantly. Be honest with how you are feeling, too fast/good pace etc.
• Share turns at the front. It is hard mentally being the person at the back trying to always catch up. This also gives a good idea for where your teams pace should be.
• Always go at your own pace, not the pace of other teams around you. We are very rarely leading in the first half of these events.
With just over 4 weeks to go, it is not too late to enter and be part of all the action!

New Run Leg Announced
Go Natural Multisport – Akuna Bay to Bobbin Head
Saturday, 16th August 2014
We are excited to announce some changes to the finish area and run leg to celebrate the 10th edition of the Go Natural Multisport. For past participants familiar with the course, the new run leg will present a new challenge with more technical trail running, less fire trail and an easier return to the finish line. If you haven’t participated in the Go Natural Multisport before, entries are still available with options to race solo, as a pair or in a relay team.
So What’s New?
- Firstly, Apple Tree Bay will no longer be the event finish area. The finish will now be hosted at Bobbin Head
- Apple Tree Bay will remain the kayak to run transition, with kayaks left in the same position and the timing/transition area in the same location as previous years.
- The distance of the run will change from 12.5km to 14.5km. For marketing purposes we’ll call it 14km.

What a Wild, Windy Weekend!
Tough Bloke Challenge – Appin, NSW
Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th, June, 2014
And we are not even talking about the weather! In all seriousness we could possibly add an additional obstacle “The Wind” at some points over the weekend but hey, that’s what its all about with the Tough Bloke Challenge! Proving your Tough no matter what!
Australia’s original and longest running obstacle race returned to Appin for the 7th time to yet again spread mud, laughter, smiles, a little blood and this year wood shavings across the 8km course. It was suggested the “Close Shave” be renamed to the “Lamington” as it best described what people looked like as they climbed out! Just one of the 3 new obstacles to join the course this year along with the “Tough Tank” which was a nice cool wake up to the body early on followed by the “Marshmallow” to warm you back up by jumping over 3 rows of hot coals.
Last year we introduced the Tyre Tire and thought carrying 5 tyres was impressive. What can we say about you blokes, mention a little challenge and your competitive side comes out. Saturday had 3 Tough Blokes carry 6 tyres around the short loop, but Sunday brought not only a successful 7 tyre carry but also a new Tyre Toughie record of 8! Who would have thought!
We love seeing people come out in fancy dress and this year you did not to let us down. Along with an increased number of morph suits and tight & bright lycra we saw a number of super heroes, nerds, cammo, onesies and men in womens clothing! If you snapped a shot of yourself dressed up at the event send it to Fancy Dress for the chance to win our fancy dress prizes!
Want to win even more free stuff? Send us in your write up of the event and the story we like the most will win a pair of Newton BOCO AT’s from our sponsor Newton Running. Send your story to Newton Competition by Friday 11th July.
Don’t forget to # your photos and post on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using the hashtags #TBCNSW #toughblokechallenge #iwastoughenough #maxadventure
