Bring the Whole Family

4th October 2016

Paddy Pallin Urban

Saturday 5th November 2016
Sydney CBD, NSW

In the 24/7 world we live in it is getting harder and harder to find activities and outings the whole family can enjoy together. We want to get the kids out of the house, we want them exercising their brain as well as their smart phones and we want to spend some quality time with them. That is where an event like the Paddy Pallin Urban is so valuable, designed to be enjoyed by groups, it will challenge your minds, get you working together as a team and most importantly having a lot of fun together in the glorious city of Sydney. The Paddy Pallin Urban is like the ultimate scavenger hunt, teams are given a list of cryptic clues to solve to find the location of checkpoints across the CBD. When you arrive at those checkpoints there will normally be an activity testing the mind or body (or both) to complete before you move onto the next one.

Kids as young as 8 years old can join their parent as a two person team, or if both parents are coming along as team members children aged 8-13 can be included for only $30. Under the age of 8? Free, no additional charge at all. The kids can then be involved in solving the clues to the checkpoint locations then join in at as many or as few of the challenges as you like. With no set course and no minimum number of checkpoints to complete before you can cross the finish line there is no time pressure, do as many or as few of the checkpoints as you like. You can also use public transport to travel around and save those little legs from fatigue.

So round up a team, enter and get ready for a real fun day out to remember.

Beat the Price Rise

Paddy Pallin Adventure Series
Saturday 12th November 2016
Lysterfield Lake, VIC

Just over a month to go, until the Paddy Pallin Adventure Series finally hits Victoria for 2016.

NSW has enjoyed 3 rip-roaring events in the series already, Queensland has had its turn, Victorians have had to wait nearly all year, but the time is here. Entries are filling fast so what are you waiting for, get involved and sign up!

Still need convincing? Well how about kilometre after kilometre of flowing groomed single track to tear up on the bike legs. You won’t be able to help grinning when you click into that groove and start kicking up the dirt. Running your strong suit? Great terrain for that too, open flat country means you will really be able to stretch out. Then we add in a calm freshwater lake to explore on the kayaks, all will be quiet and serene, until the flashing paddle blades hit that is!

If all that sounds a little racy and you are looking for a more relaxed day out with a mate, son or daughter; then the Novice course is perfect for you. Half the distance of the Classic course but just as much fun, it is ideal for those who are new to adventure racing or who do not think they are fit enough for the Classic course.

Enter now before the price rise on 12th October!

Event Wrap Up

Paddy Pallin Adventure Series
Saturday 24th September 2016
Lower Blue Mountains, NSW

A glorious sunny and warm day greeted a record number of teams at the Paddy Pallin Adventure Series round at the Lower Blue Mountains just west of Sydney. An exciting course for both the Classic and Novice courses consisted of a short rogaine around the hub, kayaking on the Nepean River, trail running and some perfect single track for the mountain biking.

With temperatures pushing into the 30’s hydration was high on everyone’s plan with plenty of people stocking up on equipment, Marmot and Icebreaker clothing at the Paddy Pallin stand before the race started.

The Classic course was a tight affair with five teams completing the bonus bike leg before the cutoff. The Armstrong brothers of Belrose Bicycles were back on top of the podium with a very close race & only 4 seconds splitting them and That’s a Paddlin (Tim Doman and Andrew Lloyd).

The Novice race continues to grow with 40 teams enjoying their 1st adventure race, with a highlight being the high number of family’s competing. Team BGSH (Sam Hudson and Ben Graham) flew through the course in 1hr 26mins with Father and Son team of Stark & Son (Andrew & Samuel Huxley) only 3 minutes behind them.
