Go Wild at Wild Horse Mountain

Maximum Adventure Race Series
Saturday 21st March, 2020
Sunshine Coast, QLD

The Maximum Adventure Race Series returns to the Sunshine Coast for more adventure racing action next March! Entries are now open for teams of two with the Novice course designed for those new to the sport or the traditional longer and more challenging Classic course for those coming back for some more fun. No matter which course, this fast and furious type of multisport event will keep you on your toes as you change from running, mountain biking and kayaking legs during the race.

The flat course on offer ensures some exciting racing, while the plethora of trails through the forest means there’s plenty of time that can be gained or lost by smart route choices. Navigation is a key component of adventure racing, so this is the perfect event to practice this important skill…plus it just adds a whole new level of fun to the event.

The event centre at Wild Horse Mountain is located just off the highway making it easy to drive to the event and a quick get away afterwards. The event is easily accessible from the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and localities further North.

Event Wrap Up

Bouddi Coastal Run
Saturday 16th November, 2019
Killcare, NSW

The third edition of the Bouddi Coastal Run saw over 900 enthusiastic trail runners competing at Putty Beach on the NSW Central Coast. The hot, windy and smoky weather in the lead up to the event were replaced with sunny skies and a cooling sea breeze. With 21km and 14km course options, the field was a diverse mix of hardened trail veterans and newcomers looking forward to the spectacular views along the race route. The variety of trail surfaces kept everyone on their toes, but the views kept everyone smiling until they conquered the final stretch along the beach to the finish line, where many enjoyed a swim to cool down.

Local runners took many of the podium places across all categories with local knowledge obviously an advantage. Martin Dent (1.43.55) took the win in the 21km event among the Men, just over two minutes ahead of Vlad Shatrov with the ever present Dominic Perry in 3rd. In the Female category Cathie Dent (2.11.46) won over Danielle Donahue and Lindsay Norton in a tight tussle for 2nd.

On the 14km course there was some top running up the front of the Women’s field, as shown by 7 women finishing in the top 25 overall. First place went to Patria Harris (1.18.41), just beating home Jinni Spalding and Deirdre Hopkins. For the 14km Mens race, Grant Brisbin (1.08.45) finally took the top step of the podium on his third attempt, in front of Jesse Jones and Zac Roberts.

Thanks to our event sponsors ThermaTech and Tailwind and to the Killcare community for welcoming the event once again with open arms, especially the Killcare Surf Life Saving Club.

If you want to join in the excitement, don’t worry, the Bouddi Coastal Run will be back in 2020.
