If trail running is your passion and you are looking for a family friendly event offering trails with spectacular coastal views and a variety of terrain, this event is for you!

12km, 22km and 36km Course Options

Hosted from the magnificent Raffertys Resort on the shores of Lake Macquarie, the event accommodates runners of all abilities with three course distances on offer; 12km, 22km and 36km. Starting and finishing at Raffertys Resort, the trail snakes through the Wallarah National Park taking in the sites of beautiful Lake Macquarie and the stunning coastline of historic Catherine Hill Bay and the Munmorah Conservation Area. The terrain is varied – bushland single track, fire trail, coastal tracks, rock platforms and beach running all featured to challenge and excite the most discerning of trail runners.

Returning this year is the 1km Kids Fun Run held around Raffertys Resort for the younger trail runners. With accommodation, food and Kids Club activities all hosted at the same location as the Start & Finish line you couldn’t ask for much more if you are looking for a weekend trail running escape for the entire family.

This event Sold Out last year and entries are expected to disappear once again so enter today to avoid disappointment.

Convict 100

With the Convict 100 just around the corner now is the time to sign up to beat the price rise. A price increase across all 3 distances (44km, 68km & 100km) is happening on Thursday 5th of April so there is no time to waste if you want to save $15 on entry fees.

Plenty of 100km riders have signed up already, with plenty more to come. If the full 100km course is a step too far why not join in the fun and sign up for the 68km or 44km course.

The 68km course contains many of the highlights of the 100km course without the extra distance. That means you can be back at the finish line earlier and keep the family happy by being home earlier.

Then there is the 44km course, with only one major climb and plenty of smooth fire trail, which is perfect for younger riders, older riders or those tackling their first mountain bike race.

From the toughest of 100km warriors, the ‘here for a good time’ (but still pretty intense) 68km riders to the rookies and weekend warriors on the 44km course, there really is a distance to suit everyone.

Event Wrap Up

Maximum Adventure Race Series
Saturday, 17th March, 2018
Wild Horse Mountain, QLD

Nearly 400 adventure racers took part in the Maximum Adventure Series Race at Wild Horse Mountain on the Sunshine Coast last month. This event is one of the most challenging in the series due to the number of route choices and the great combination of fire trails, creeks and forest competitors navigate through.

128 teams took on the 40km Classic course with the wet and dark tunnel that teams used to cross under the Bruce Hwy ramping up the excitement. While times were a little slower than last year, competitors tackled a longer course and took advantage of the bonus check points to earn their time credits.

The Novice course continued to gain popularity with over 70 teams taking part in this category with the vast majority newcomers to the sport. Many of these Novice teams were already planning to step up to the full Classic course next time!
