A Day out to Remember!

Paddy Pallin Urban Series
Sydney CBD, NSW
Saturday 7th November 2015

Have you ever wanted to compete in the ‘Amazing Race’? Does the idea of spending a Spring day in Sydney CBD with your best mate, partner or family completing the ultimate scavenger hunt sound like a blast? Well guess what, you can sign up to be a part of it today!

The Paddy Pallin Urban is an event like no other, you & your team mate will spend the day racing around the city, solving clues to locate a variety of physical* and mental challenges. Complete the challenge successfully and you are off to the next checkpoint to do it all again. Figure it will be quicker to jump on a train or a bus rather than going by foot to the next checkpoint? Then do it!

There are over 20 checkpoints to find, with exciting new challenges around every corner. Will you be kayaking, solving a brain teaser, searching for a weirdly dressed character in a crowded marketplace or be eating something icky? We can’t tell you now but these were just some of the challenges last year. Who knows what will be in store this year!

Entries are available on the website via the link below so grab and partner, sign up and get ready for one hell of a ride!

*Physical challenges are designed for all ages and fitness levels in mind.

Entries Opening Soon

Jabulani Challenge
Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park, NSW
Saturday 9th April 2016

Calling all trail runners, the Jabulani Challenge is back in 2016 with entries opening next Monday 12th of October.

Held in the picturesque Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park just on the northern edge of Sydney this event features some of the best trail running in NSW. Runners raved about the beauty of the Gibberagong & Warrimoo trails as they skirted the edge of crystal clear waterways before crossing the finish line at the historic Bobbin Head.

With the event having three distances (45km, 22km & 12km) it really is an event that is accessible to all. The event also has a real ‘feel good’ vibe with a percentage of entry fees going to our charity partner to help disadvantaged children in Africa. All together it adds up to a trail running challenge not to be missed, as proved last year with the event selling out well before race day. With entries expected to go even quicker this year it is important you are prepared come Monday to secure your entry so you don’t miss out.

Event Wrap Up

Coastal Classic
Royal National Park, NSW
Saturday 5th September 2015

The 6th edition of the Coastal Classic was held just over a week ago in absolutely stunning conditions with runners reporting slower times simply because they kept stopping to soak in the views and the sunshine. Held over a deceptively tough 29km course from Otford to Bundeena through the Royal National Park the event is not for the faint hearted. However it is always made easier by the cheers and assistance of the local Bushies out on course adding to the atmosphere of the event.

In conditions made for quick times the field didn’t disappoint with a record number of runners smashing the course in fewer than 4 hours. First across the line in the third fastest time ever on the course in a touch over 2hrs 19minutes was Mark Green, despite a few scrapes from a fall along the way he still finished over 7 minutes clear of Matthew Crane in 2nd and Quentin Reeve in 3rd. It was much closer in the Women’s field with only a minute and a half covering the podium. Laura Cameron claimed the victory in a few seconds under 3 hrs with Sonja Van Beck only 19 seconds back with Eva Gardner hot on her heels.

Among the field were also a select few chasing the ultimate accolade, that of being part of the first ever finishers of the Triple Trail Challenge. To be eligible for the limited edition Thermatech hoodie that was the reward for completing the challenge these hardy trail runners must have completed the Jabulani Challenge, Rafferty’s Coastal Run and the Coastal Classic in the calendar year. The successful finishers can be well proud of their achievements. The Triple Trail Challenge we be returning so if your aiming big in 2016 in doesn’t get much bigger…

However on a day like the 5th everyone was a winner, the record field come home across the afternoon with tales of whales breaching out to sea, super PB’s and volunteers throwing themselves in front of a rare snake sighting to protect the runners. As the runners relaxed on the grass at Bundeena Reserve enjoying a feed from the local RSL club or browsing through the specials on offer from event sponsors Thermatech,  the tales grew and runners were of the opinion…I might well be back for the 2016 Coastal Classic, this is one not to be missed.

Till the 18th of April 2016 when entries open for the Coastal Classic 2016…
