Calling all Tough Blokes & Tough Chicks!

Tough Bloke Challenge
Cataract Scout Park, Appin, NSW
Saturday 25th June 2016

As 2015 draws to a close, it is about time you asked yourself… Are you Tough Enough?

You like going to the gym? You consider yourself pretty fit? Looking for a new challenge to focus on over the festive season to stop you going back for that third helping of Christmas Pudding? Sounds like you are ready to accept the challenge and sign up for the Tough Bloke Challenge!

Held just South of Sydney and featuring over 25 hair-raising, military style obstacles this event is not for the faint of heart. The elites will be lining up early in the day (shirt optional) to see if they can claim the coveted title of the ‘Toughest Bloke’ or ‘Toughest Chick’ before the everyday heroes have their moment in the sun to prove they are tough enough to conquer the course and claim their free finishers medal and beer.

In 2016 the event will also feature a whole bunch of new participants with the introduction of the Tough Kids Challenge. Open to all Tough Kids aged between 6 and 11 on a shortened 2km course but still featuring free finishers medals and event T-shirt. This is one event you will be rushing back to school on Monday to tell all your friends about!

Entries open on Monday the 7th December and the cheapest tickets in each wave are sure to be snapped up quickly. As spaces fill up in each of the wave times the price will automatically go up so now is the time to get yourself in gear and sign up!

Team entries are a very popular way to tackle this challenge (it is always easier with some moral support alongside you) so start harassing your work mates, school mates, team mates, gym mates or even just your mates, get a team going and accept the challenge together!

That's all she wrote

Kathmandu Urban, Sydney CBD, NSW
Saturday 22nd November 2014

This year marked the 10th edition of the Kathmandu Urban. Over 400 teams competed this iconic race through the city.

Armed with a clue sheet and map teams learnt to twerk, rock climb, pole dance and some of our lucky teams got to experience what cockroaches, snails and crickets tasted like but it wasn’t all physical. Team’s mental strength and agility with their hands were put to the test with problem solving checkpoints, paper crane making and a ton of other activities.

On a hot and sunny day; teams stayed out on course working their way to the different checkpoints. The quickest social teams to complete the course were “Dirty Girls” & “Speedy Griffins” with an amazing time of 2 hours 49mins! Their secret was to do the whole thing on foot and not to use public transport. After a number years of taking on the Urban, Nathan and Christopher from team “Kangachauns” took line honors for the men’s racing team only taking 3.5hours to get through the course.

This year the Kathmandu Urban raised $11,031.78 for Good Beginnings Australia! A special congratulations and thank you goes to Nathan and Christopher who raised an amazing $1127. Your contributions are greatly appreciated by the team at Good Beginnings and the funds go directly to vital activities they run to help every child get the best start.

The photographers were out on course capturing moments from the day. Head over to Aurora Images to see if they snapped any photos of you.

Finally, thank you to all the teams that participated this year in the Kathmandu Urban and your ongoing support of this great event. Make sure you put Monday, 1st June 2015 into your diaries; entries for the Urban will be opening! We would love to hear your feedback, race reports and see any photos you have. Please feel free to email us at info@maxadventure.com.au.

Mud Run Madness

Mud Run, Horsley Park, NSW
Saturday 6th December 2014

In the lead up to this year’s mud run we had storms roll in like clockwork every afternoon and the rain they brought completely soaked the course and filled the mud pits to overflowing. Great conditions for a “Mud Run” with the mud pits yet again claiming lots of shoes, creating giant smiles and laughter and getting everyone dirty! With yet another storm blowing in late in the day those still at the event centre got a bonus wash down and spectacular lightning show!

With over 6500 participants bouncing around the course in all sorts of crazy fashion statements, people early in the day stirred up the mud for those coming through later. This year’s event featured the Foam Frenzy that had great feedback from both kids and adults, not the toughest obstacle but definitely a mass of bubbly fun.

An amazing effort by all those that raised funds for the Cancer Council, well done. A whopping $42,696.58 was raised this year and Maximum Adventure along with Cancer Council would like to express thanks to those who participated. There were definitely a lot of yellow shirts out there!

We do have a few lost property items that were handed in, if you are missing something of value (not your shoe that is still in the mud pit) then send us an email with a description to info@maxadventure.com.au

All the terrific photos from the team at Aurora Images are now available to view via the link below where you can search by your bib number for all your photos. As the numbers can get a bit hard to read when covered in MUD be sure to use the Advanced Search feature to find even more photos to add to your Aurora Value Pack
