Paddy Pallin Adventure Series
Royal National Park, NSW
Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th May 2015

You do not want to miss this Adventure Race at one of Australia’s top locations in the Royal National Park. Experience the beauty of the worlds second oldest National Park as you ride sweet single track, paddle along serene water ways and admire the views from the running trails. All this and it is only a stones throw from the CBD.

With just over two weeks to go, now is the time to get your entry in before they close on Wednesday 20th May.

Race tip for the day: Kayaking is more about technique than power. Use your core muscles to rotate your upper body as you paddle and less of the small muscles in your arms. Remember to lean forward.

Call for volunteers

We still need a couple more volunteers for this event. If your friends or partner are coming along to support you, why not ask them to volunteer while they wait for you to finish the race. They get a free shirt, cap, goodie bag, $50 Paddy Pallin voucher and lots of thanks and appreciation. Your day could consist of helping with registration or assisting at one of the many checkpoints on the course.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, send an email to: info@maxadventure.com.au – or send us your details by completing our convenient online volunteer proforma at: Volunteer Proforma

The Original Challenge

Tough Bloke Challenge – Appin, NSW
Saturday 27th June 2015

Come and join us for Australia’s first and best obstacle course race!

Held at Appin, just South of Sydney, this is a rope swinging, mud crawling, wall climbing challenge set in the Australian bush. After you tackle the 25+ obstacles over the 8km course and are thinking about the free ice-cold beer waiting at the finishing line, the ultimate obstacle awaits…Hell’s Gate.

Hell’s Gate is a suspended rope traverse that will have your nerves jangling from the height, your arms twitching from the effort and your legs struggling to find purchase on the slippery wet rope. Many a Tough Bloke and Tough Chick have fallen victim to Hell’s Gate on their first, second or even 15th attempt but as per the spirit of the Tough Bloke Challenge they are encouraged to pick themselves up, dust themselves off and have another go! The celebrations as a Tough Bloke or Tough Chick finally conquer Hell’s Gate after multiple attempts is something to behold!

Why is the Tough Bloke Challenge the original and still the best obstacle race around?

– 25+ awesome obstacles set over a 8km course
– Your time recorded by a professional timing company
– Free 4 Pines craft beer
– Free event T-shirt
– Free finishers medal
– Free parking
– No hidden costs, the price you see is the price you pay!

The Tough Bloke Challenge still has entries open across all waves with some waves starting at as low as $70. If you haven’t experienced the original, or are thinking of coming back for your second, third, or eighth time, now is the time to set you sights on Appin at the end of June and…

Spectacular Trail Running

Raffertys Coastal Run – Lake Macquarie NSW
Saturday 11th July 2015

The inaugural Raffertys Coastal Run is shaping up to be another gem on the trail running calendar. Our course planners have spent a bit of time out on the trail and have brought back a few pics of the scenery that runners will experience on race day. If you are like us and prefer your trail running with a good dose of pristine nature then you better sign up for the Raffertys Coastal Run. We only know of one other event that matches this one for sheer beauty, and it sold out last week!

There are three course distances to choose from – 10km, 22km and 35k to accommodate runners/walkers of all abilities. Starting and finishing at Raffertys Resort, the trail snakes through the Wallarah National Park taking in the sites of beautiful Lake Macquarie and the stunning coastline of historic Catherine Hill Bay and the Munmorah State Conservation Area.

Bring the kids

If we haven’t said it before – the Raffertys Coastal Run is not a one off running event, it is a chance for runners to bring their family, unwind and enjoy a relaxing weekend at Raffertys Resort.

To assist running families, the resort is offering a “Kids Club” – a childcare facility for kids over 4 years of age operating for the duration of the event. Kids will be looked after by childcare professionals and includes a day filled with fun and activities. Some of the activities the kids can look forward to include a jumping castle, face painting, orienteering, kayaking and much more. You can book in for kids club (includes a kids lunch) when you enter the event, for more details click here

Entries for the Raffertys Coastal Run are now open via the link below – come and run one of the best new trail running events in NSW and have a relaxing weekend at the same time.

Rescheduled Date Announced

Convict 100 – St. Albans NSW
Saturday 8th August 2015

After last week’s cancellation, we are happy to announce that the Convict 100 is back on the 8th August 2015. If you hold a current entry, you have a number of refund and transfer options – for more details visit www.convict100.com.au

New Course Options

If you missed out on an entry or perhaps were not race ready in May, now is your chance to get back on the horse. Online entry for all three course distances are open once again.

The event features an all new 68km course to replace the previous half century which incorporates the bridge ride and the technical sections along the Old Great North Road. There is also a new 44km course suited to beginners or the odd roadie not overly comfortable with the technical stuff. It is a great introduction to mountain biking.

The big dog or better known as the “Century of Dirt” also gets a revamp – now running in reverse for the first time since the inception of the event in 2005.

Join us in August for another thrilling edition of the Convict 100 – to secure your entry follow the link below
