Glenrock State Reserve, NSW -14th/15th February 2015

Ahh the weekend is approaching, you start planning a bike ride on your favourite loop before a coffee stop, or you will be hitting the trails for a run, or getting your exercise on top of the water with a leisurely paddle. It’s part of the weekend ritual and we love them all but why not take a step out of your comfort zone, combine all three and have a real weekend adventure!

The Kathmandu Adventure Series combines the disciplines of mountain biking, trail running and kayaking. Sprinkle in some navigation to keep you on your toes and a team mate to share the in the fun and you are set for an unforgettable day. The course is kept secret until race morning but are specially designed for all fitness levels. Sure the quick teams will be zipping around in a few hours but the real heroes are those teams out challenging and exceeding their own expectations and goals.

Another Classic event!

Coastal Classic – Royal National Park, Sydney
Saturday 6th September 2014

Sunny weather greeted competitors as they lined up for the 5th annual Coastal Classic. Many people were commenting that their training had been interrupted by ill health and or the recent wet weather. However, neither of these factors held back over 650 trail runners who tackled the 29km (some would argue the trail felt much longer) along some of Sydney’s most stunning coastline.

First across the line was Marty Keyes in a super quick time of 2:26:56. First female across the line was Sophie Brown in 2:51:50 who pipped Maeve Birdsall for line honours by less than a minute!

Of special note was Fred Ellison, the youngest competitor (14 years old) ever to complete the Coastal Classic in an incredible time of 3:45:53 while Ludwig Herpich took just over 5 hours, a brilliant effort from the oldest competitor who was 79 on race day!

Full results are now available HERE.

All the photos are available HERE.

In the mean time make note of Tuesday the 31st of March when entries open for the next edition of the Coastal Classic which will be held on Saturday 5th September 2015.

Experience beats Enthusiasm

Go Natural Multisport – Ku-ring-gai Chase NP
Saturday 16th August 2014

It was a case of experience and guile trumping enthusiasm and fresh legs amongst the quickest competitors at the Go Natural Multisport held on the 16th of August from the breathtaking Akuna Bay, via the tranquil Apple Tree Bay before finishing in spectacular Bobbin Head.

The overall line honours winner was Paul Robertson who came from the Veteran category to stun the younger athletes and take the title in 3.23.09, in fact the three quickest times on the day were all from the Veteran category!

In the fight for Female line honours Bren Turner claimed the win in just over 4 hours.

The Go Natural Multisport is not just for individuals however, also tackling the course was a mixture of relay teams and pairs, some using the supplied kayaks, some bringing there own super quick kayaks. With the opportunity to tackle the whole course or just your one favourite leg the Go Natural Multisport offers a great blend of participants from all walks of life.

Of course the event wouldn’t be able to go ahead without the continued support of Go Natural, the participants out on course were loving the free Go Natural bars on course that really gave them the edge to push for a quick finish, especially through the tough new run leg. Stay tuned for entries opening for the 2015 Go Natural Multisport.
