Convict 100

Saturday 7th May, 2022
St Albans, NSW

In just two months time the mountain biking community will descend on the small, sleepy, historical village of St Albans for the 17th edition of the Convict 100, a mountain bike race with a history and atmosphere that is unparalleled.

What is it that keeps riders returning year after year to take on the epic journey that is the Convict?

• Spectacular views along all the courses: mountains and ridges as far as the eye can see, pretty valleys dotted with farms and the glint of the river running through the centre.
• The challenge of the course: this is mountain biking at it’s purest, man and machine against the rough convict trails and steep hills of Dharug and Yengo National Parks.
• The atmosphere: the small town is tripled in size by mountain bikers for one weekend, as row upon row of tents appear and everyone is buzzing with excitement.
• The throw back to a simpler time: no bells and whistles or mobile phones, just a group of friends together, sharing in the journey and love of mountain biking. Camaraderie at it’s finest as all riders gear up for the adventure ahead.

Let’s be honest, it’s probably all of those elements combined that make the Convict 100 a favourite for so many people.  Whether 2022 will be your first experience of the Convict 100 or you are returning to St Albans with the goal of achieving the ‘Tonne of Dirt’ 1000km milestone, we promise you wont be disappointed.

Now is the best time to enter and SAVE on your Convict 100 entry! With a price rise occurring on Thursday 7th April and with over 50% of entries already sold, you better get your entry in quick smart.

Event Wrap Up

Max Adventure Race
Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th February, 2022
Lake Macquarie, NSW

A strong field of Classic and Novice teams accepted the Max Adventure Race challenge at the beautiful Lake Macquarie in early February. Flying along the mountain bike trails, running with views over the mighty Pacific Ocean, and paddling on the calm waters of Lake Macquarie – a fantastic course with something for everyone.

Congratulations to all Classic and Novice teams that completed the course.  There were plenty of incredibly fast times on both days, but the real highlights were the smiles and stories from the many teams who conquered the course for the first time.

On the Saturday the Male team of Belrose Bicycles (Chad & Ryan Armstrong) were the quickest team on the day, there was a tight tussle among the Female teams with De-Do (Nichole Dean & Leah Doman) ending up on top. In the Premier Mixed teams Super Troopers (Derrick Cant & Ginaya Dunn) came home first in just over 3hrs.

A smaller but no less enthusiastic field took on the course on Sunday. Team Thule (Jenny Enderby & Oskar Mella) were quickest overall on the day, a tremendous effort. Speedy & Kat (Kristen Coady & Kaitlyn Waldie) lived up to their team name to take the win, being joined on the top step of the podium by winning Male team FGR (Mick Cann & Bradley Jackson).

A big thank you to our event sponsors Lake Macquarie City Council and Thule. Also thanks go out to the National Parks and Wildlife Service, Murrays Beach, 1st Belmont Scout Group, Catherine Hill Bay Surf Life Saving Club and Lake Macquarie Marine Rescue for their support of the event. A special shout out also to our hard working volunteers who lent a hand and helped make this event happen either out on course or at the event centre, and to CREST who provided the radio coverage across the course.

Full results and race photos are now available on the buttons below. Remember thanks to Lake Macquarie City Council all event photos are free of charge to participants so download yours today!

Are you keen to join in the fun?

Entries are open for the next NSW adventure race in the series at Audley in the Royal National Park on Saturday 4th June. The racing is always fast and furious at this venue and is one not to be missed.
