Set Yourself a Trail Running Goal!

Entries are currently open for three of our most popular trail running events! After a frustrating period of event interruptions it’s time to look ahead and plan your trail running calendar for the next few months.  Max Adventure has three exciting trail running events happening soon – and tickets are limited for all three events so we recommend securing your entry soon if you are keen to run.

Raffertys Coastal Run: 9 July

Hosted by Raffertys Resort and sponsored by Lake Macquarie City Council, this event is not to be missed.  With 12km, 22km & 36km race distances available, plus a 1km kids race, there is something for everyone.  Why not bring the whole family for a weekend away?  The course takes in the sites of the beautiful Lake Macquarie and the stunning coastline of historic Catherine Hill Bay and the Munmorah State Conservation Area. The terrain is varied – bushland single track, fire trail, coastal tracks, rock platforms and beach running all feature to challenge and excite the most discerning of trail runners.  2022 will see runners return to Raffertys Resort for the first time since 2019 – and we know you are as excited as us to get back to this fantastic location.  With over 90% of tickets for this event already sold it’s time to sign up and start training.

Jabulani Challenge: 6 August

With the new event date set for Saturday 6 August, there is still time to sign up for the Jabulani Challenge. Stunning single track, rainforest, bushland, steep hill inclines and creek crossings, the trails of Ku-ring-gai National Park at Bobbin Head are some of the most popular trails in Sydney. ITRA performance points are available for the longer distances, and the 45km event is a Six Foot Track Marathon qualifying race – so no matter what your trail running goals are, the Jabulani Challenge can help you get there. With event distances of 12km, 22km & 45km, and three months of training ahead, there’s no excuse not to join us for a fun day out on the trails!

Coastal Classic: 3 September

Now in it’s 13th year, the Coastal Classic is a must-do on the trail running calendar. Running 30km along the Coastal Track from Otford to Bundeena in the Royal National Park – the scenery is spectacular with breathtaking coastal views on the beach and from the cliff tops. This event is always very popular and sells out each year.  So get in quick if you want to secure an entry in the 2022 Coastal Classic – and don’t forget to add merchandise and a training plan when you register.

Start Training for the Convict 100

St Albans, 15th October 2022

The Convict 100 is an ‘institution’ in Australia mountain biking! As one of Australia’s favourite and longest running mountain bike marathons, it consistently inspires all entrants to push their personal boundaries.

The 2022 event will be the 16th instalment of the ‘Century of Dirt’ and with a 100km, 68km & 44km (for beginners and juniors) courses available, there is a distance to suit riders of all skill & fitness levels. The course follows the historic Convict Trail through the heart of the Hawkesbury Valley, taking in some of the best scenery the area has to offer. The mix of fast fire trail, technical rock gardens, rocky descents and spectacular ridgeline views is unmatched by any other MTB event. It is rugged, remote and one epic adventure on a bike!

With the new date of Saturday 15th October there is plenty of time to dust off the bike and get some real training done. Not sure where to start with your training? We have teamed up with MarathonMTB.com racer and head coach at Mind Matters Athlete Coaching, Justin Morris, who have developed training plans specifically targeting the Convict 100 event.
