Green Light For Convict 100

It’s a BIG green light for this year’s Convict 100.

It’s been a mammoth effort by the town and surrounds to clean up after floods smashed historic St Albans multiple times over the past six months. We’ve done several recces of the trails and worked closely with locals and National Parks and Wildlife Services and are pumped to confirm that Convict 100 will go ahead on October 15th 2022.

The courses have been changed to avoid the worst hit trails, the new routes will retain the essence of the distinctive Convict 100 that we all know and love. Read the full course descriptions HERE. Come October 15th riders will take on the technical trails, mean climbs, rocky sections, sandstone ridgelines, notorious kayak bridge, and a long untamed single-track section, originally carved into the side of the mountain by Convicts.

The 41km course offers a prime introductory length and style of course for newbies to MTB racing. It’s the flat, fast and friendly younger sibling of the 67km and 97km courses.

Spring Time Race

Three Bridges Run

The days are starting to get longer now that spring is upon us, and if you’ve got a running brain anything like ours, finding the motivation to tick off those training runs is getting a little easier.
What better way to drive home your training than committing to a race. The Three Bridges Run, happening Sunday 30th October is a Sydney road run event located just 30mins west of Sydney CBD.

It’s a spectacular flat course that winds its way along the Parramatta River; running past Meadowbank Park, Rhodes Point, and Newington Nature Reserve. The event brings together runners of all ages and abilities with a 5 km family fun run, 9 km, 21.1 km (half marathon) and 42.2 km (marathon) distance option.

So rope in your whole family or sign up with your running mate, this will be an exciting spring time race!

Event Wrap Up

Jabulani Challenge

Bobbin Head, NSW

The rescheduled 2022 Jabulani Challenge took place last month and what a STELLA day it was! Nearly 800 runners took on the 12 KM, 22 KM, and 45 KM courses. Trail conditions were prime after a period of dry conditions following the rain earlier in the year. The Jabulani Challenge true to its name, is a technical and challenging course with steep climbs and varied terrain through the lush Sydney Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Runners start and finish at Bobbin Head as the loop course takes full advantage of the surrounding National Park trails.

Amongst the many highlights of the day was the incredible sight of Rhett Gibson flying through the yellow finish arch with a course record time of 03:48:28. A massive congratulations to all other podium finishers and to all who took on the Jabulani Challenge 2022.

A big shout out to the large number of volunteers who helped us to run a smooth event for our participants. The red volunteer army was all along the course, cheering on the runners and adding to the atmosphere at the event.

The Jabulani Challenge will be back in 2023! Don’t be a fool, be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday 1 April and start planning your next assault on this classic and challenging course.
