Only five weeks to go!
Convict 100 – St Albans, NSW
Saturday 3rd May 2014
With only five short weeks to go, another strong field of riders are assembling to take on one of Australia’s favourite and longest running mountain bike marathons – The Convict 100.
Over the last 9 years, on the first weekend in May, some 13,000 riders have embraced the sleepy township of St. Albans in the Hawkesbury Valley. They tackled trails built by hand between 1826 and 1836, red lined up Blue Hill, rode across or swam next to the infamous kayak bridge, left skid marks on chamois’ down Jacks Track or Browns Lane and finally, road across the finish line to be greeted with a beer and a smile from a local firey.
Some made it back, others went home courtesy of a chopper or meat wagon. No groomed single track, no mountain bike parks, no lattes or shaved legs; just dirt in your nostrils and trails cut by nature or two centuries ago by a cattle thief. This is mountain biking in its purest form – welcome to the 10th anniversary of the Convict 100.
If you are not on the entry list – put down that latte sunshine and enter!

Entries Going Fast!
Coastal Classic – Royal National Park, NSW
Saturday 6th September 2014
Despite entries only opening on Monday morning a rush of competitors keen to tackle the course for the first time or veterans hungry to come back for more means the event is nearly full!
Why is the event so popular I hear you ask?
Well 29km of trail running along some of the most spectacular coastline in Australia if not the world is the answer. Based along the coast track through the Royal National Park this race brings you stunning vista after breathtaking view. While you are only just south of Sydney the views offered by the world’s second oldest National Park means you literally could be in the middle of nowhere.
It’s also not just the views that attract such a crowd, the actual running is top shelf as well. Rocky terrain, beach running, cliff top tracks, rainforest, steep inclines, the trail has it all, plus more. The race is also gaining a reputation as a deceptively difficult challenge for trail runners and one that keeps them coming back to hone their strategy as they chase that elusive PB.
So if you are looking to take on one of the most challenging and spectacular trail runs around its time to get your running shoes on, leg it to a computer and grab an entry now!

Event Wrap Up, Results & Photos
Kathmandu Adventure Series – Sunshine Coast
Saturday 22nd March, 2014
There were smiles a plenty when nearly 300 competitors lined up for the start of the annual Kathmandu Adventure Race on the Sunshine Coast.
For the first year in a long time teams were treated to a dry course. This made for some fast and furious racing as teams tackled the six legs comprising multiple legs of trial running, mountain biking and kayaking. Of particular note was one of the kayaking checkpoints that became submerged during the event when the log it was tied to decided to flip over. This did not stop the teams diving in after it. Maybe we can call that the mystery leg?
With the drier conditions came a faster course with Teamexplore (Paul Elby & Gary Palmer) blitzing the course in 2 hrs 51 min. Mountain Designs (Kim Beckinsale and Gary Sutherland) were second across the line in 2 hrs 57 min and Tri Adventure Girls (Jan Leverton and Kelsey Harvey) rounding out the top three in 3hr 28min.
Full results and photos are available Here.
Do you have a great story to tell from the event, then Email us your race report (in word format). The report to be judged the best will win a $50 Kathmandu voucher.
